Scrap copper-aluminum radiators are bulky, tightly bonded, and mixed in material. Manual dismantling is labor-intensive and low-yield, while improper disposal wastes valuable metals—efficient separation remains a key challenge.
Process Configuration
An integrated line of “shredding + magnetic separation + air separation + dust removal”: radiators are fed into a shredder, ferrous metals are removed by magnet, light and heavy impurities are separated by air classification. Negative-pressure dust collection controls dust throughout.
Separation Result
-
Ferrous metals: recovery rate ≥95%, sent to steel mills
-
Copper: purity ≥98%, sent to copper smelters
-
Aluminum: purity ≥98%, sent to aluminum smelters
-
Overall volume reduction: ≥70%; resource recovery rate: ≥85%
Customer Outcome
Same-day collection and processing; storage footprint cut by 40%; transport trips reduced by 60%; copper and aluminum generate steady revenue, cutting annual operating costs by ~25%. The project meets environmental standards and supports circular economy goals, becoming a regional metal recycling demonstration site.
