Project Challenge
Biomass waste (wood chips, straw, garden trimmings) is bulky, high in moisture, and low in density. Direct use is inefficient and costly to transport—converting it into dense, high-value pellets remains a key challenge.
Process Configuration
An integrated line of “shredding + magnetic separation+ Air separation + pelletizing + dust removal”: biomass is shredded, cleaned of metals, ground into fine powder, then pressed into pellets. Negative-pressure dust collection controls dust throughout.
Separation Result
-
Metals: recovery rate ≥95%, sent to metal recyclers
-
Biomass pellets: diameter 6–8 mm, calorific value 3,800–4,500 kcal/kg, used as solid fuel
-
Fines and rejects: composted or used as soil amendment
-
Overall volume reduction: ≥70%; resource recovery rate: ≥85%
Customer Outcome
Biomass pellets generate steady revenue, cutting annual operating costs by ~25%. The project meets environmental standards and supports carbon reduction goals, becoming a regional biomass pelletizing demonstration site.
